Exporting cosmetics or food products to the US requires going through FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) procedures.
For cosmetics, MoCRA (the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act), which took effect in 2023, made Facility Registration and Product Listing mandatory. Labels must accurately list ingredients (INCI names) and warning statements in English.
For food products, alongside FDA facility registration, you must submit a "Prior Notice" for every import shipment, and rewrite your Nutrition Facts panel to US standards.
Skipping this registration can get your products detained or returned at customs — so it's important to prepare well before you plan to enter the US market.
